Seven Months Later, 1138 days after the beginning.

Why do I go back to Xanga?  One simple reason:  It's been 1138 days since I opened this account.  1138, a  number that any fan of Star Wars should easily recognize, coming from George Lucas's first ever feature film THX 1138 (also where we get the THX sound company's name) and has been hidden in just about every Lucas film since.

I'm pretty sure I got a Xanga at my friend Conrad's urging, but refused to actually use it until Taylor persuaded me to, do though I've had it for 1138 days, I've not been posting for nearly that long (and with increasingly large gaps between posts).  I mention the beginning because this is likely the end.  I won't say 100% the end, but Xanga really serves no purpose... I don't feel the need to blog, and if I did, I'd use Blogger, since it's much prettier anyway.

I shan't try to recap my life since March.... way too much has happened, I've changed far more  than I ever thought I would, in ways that shocked even me....  Wow the last time I updated this was about when Aliya and I broke up... basically a lifetime ago   :-\   Actually, I imagine most people that read this either know all the big stuff that's happened since, or they don't care.

Anywho, in conclusion (both of this post and of Xanga in general), life has been good, and I wouldn't change a thing.

Has it really been that long, or what I've done with my life in the last 6 months

So last time I updated was in November.  The last time I actually said something was September.  Wow.  It really has been a while.  Much to cover, so I'll split it up into easily readable sections

School:

Some things have changed since then.  I am no longer in crazy Abstract and Discreet Mathematics (wait, did I mention that class in September?)  It nearly killed me, that class... damn tough... I guess that's why it was mostly filled with Juniors ;).  Technically speaking, I now have enough credits to be considered a first semester junior. </ego trip>

Right now I'm in a one cool class: Operating Systems programming (a junior level course, filled with juniors and seniors), and can say I understand far better how a computer works on almost every level then I did last semester.  Damn, the stuff that programming classes teach has almost nothing to do with how a computer actually works...  The rest of my classes are alright, not worth typing about now.

Next Summer:

For those that care, I'll be in Lake Forest College's Richter program this summer.  Basically means that I will be doing actual research with one of the professors on the campus. [ I'll also be getting payed for it $-) ].  I'll specifically be working with Professor Kirk, who has previously had her work published in Science (really fancy prestigious big journal for those in the scientific world).  We're going to be doing research on telemores (the ends of DNA that are made up of a series of 6 repeating base pairs that have an important function in aging and cancer).  I saw the machine that changes DNA . Naturally, I'm very excited about this project.

Props Master:

On the Job front, I am now far less of a lazy bum then I have ever been before.  I am no longer simply working in the props department, but I am the entire props department.  My official job title is Props Master.  damn, it feels good to have master in a job title.  However this means that I constantly have shitloads of work to get done not to mention homework...  however, income is nice.  I can afford a Wii, now if only I could find one...

All in all:

Life has been good overall... very busy, but good friends, great girlfriend, and great times all around.  (spring break could've been greater, but I go to ride my bike so I am more than happy)

Hopefully it won't take me another 6 months to update, but no promises.

I gotta get on some kind of update schedule...

I really do owe you guys an update proper, but you're not getting it today.  Just posting to let you know that I changed the video at the top of my Xanga to Marilyn Manson's  cover  of  This is Halloween from  Nightmare Before Christmas. (For those on Facebook  it's also on my shared stuff thing... I don't really know what it's called but you can see it from my profile page)

If you haven't seen this already and like the movie, check it out!

At 3:33am I start?

Hey guys, I'm here practicing advanced procrastination techniques.   I want to tell you all that I've updated  my  Photos and Videos pages on  Xanga  so check those out.

I've been in college for a bit over a month now, moved in on August 19th and now it's September 22nd.  A good bit of stuff's happened since.  I joined a few clubs, I'll probably write for the school paper, whatever.

Up until last week I could say that I have a math class without numbers and a computer class without computers.  In abstract and discrete mathematics, we're learning logic, so far most of it has been compeletely abstract and concept based using P and Q to represent ideas rather than numbers so it's been fun.  Intro to Computer Architecture has actually been a lot of fun, we learned the most basic workings of computers, bit logic.  It's really cool because now I basically understand exactly how a computer works.  I honestly know how it adds binary numbers together.  Robots and Brains has been somewhat dissapointing... It seems to be split into half a semester of brain, then robots with essays inbetween....  Organismal Biology is a piece of cake.

I actually overslept a few times.  So far I missed Intro to computer Architecture once, Organismal Biology once, and half of Abstract and Discrete Mathematics once.

Bio labs are hellish.

Sad to say, I'm no longer a lazy bum.... That's right, I got a paying job.  I'm working in the props department at the school theatre.  They're putting on the Rocky Horror Show, which I was initially really excited about, but the theatre department seems so tiny now that I fear it will be rather dissapointing.  Oh well, I get to play with megaphones and machetes on the job.

I got the new DVD releases of the Original Trilogy of Star Wars.  Each box contains the 2004 DVD release containing the super special edition of the film, AND more importantly, it also contains the original cut of the movie as first seen in theaters which is just amazing.  If each box counts as having 2 versions of the movie, then this will be my fourth and fifth copies of the Original Trilogy.

Find me on facebook if you haven't already.  I like it there.  I also like that my Xanga posts are readable there.... hmm, I should provide a link to my Xanga so anybody reading on FaceBook can visit here and see the amazingness of my site.

Have you heard the news?  The Nintendo Wii comes out Nov. 19th for $249.99.  I currently have $1.  I need to start saving ;) .  Speaking of which, I updated my video at the top of my Xanga to a fun comparison of the Wii and PS3, check it out if you haven't seen it already.  I'm going to change it in a week to something that exemplifies my personality even more...

I've made some amazing friends at college.  It's really surprising how quick strong bonds can form between people.  The friends I made in the first few weeks of school here might stay friends for the rest of my life.  It's crazy.

So yeah, I'm at Lake Forest College now... I get almost no sleep, and it's rarely homework related.  I love it.  Had to take an online Alcohol Education course for the college.  It was intensly dull, but they didn't actually tell you not to drink at all, so that was nice.  I love how at the end they give you a survey and give the option of saying that you know less about a subject than you did before the course.  I'm pretty sure a few brain cells died of boredom, so I could say that I indeed know less now than I did then.

Wow, it's actually been about two months since my last real post.  Explains why I had so much to rant about.

Backtracking, this was probably the very best (hell not probably, definately) summer of my life, and I was extremely saddened to see it end.

Guess what my Stevenson attending friends?  I will be attending the Homecoming dance there with Aliya!  We'll be together 5 months the day before the dance, so that's really exciting, I love Aliya sooooooooo much.

Anywho, I end at 4am, I'm tired.  I might not do homework.  haha.  Goodnight!
